Student Memberships
A Student Member is actively studying acupuncture in an ACAOM-accredited school or apprenticing with an acupuncturist with at least ten years of experience. A Student Member possesses the right to attend all general meetings and serve on committees. Student Members possess rights and privileges as non-voting members. The annual dues for this category are $50.00.
Yearly Renewal – $50/year for 1 year
1st Year Professional Memberships
We congratulate you on your 1st year in practice! Oregon Association of Acupuncturists is pleased to offer a half-price membership to all newly licensed acupuncturists for the first year in practice. A 1st Year Professional Member shall meet the same qualifications and possess full rights and privileges as a Professional Member. Dues for this membership is $149.50 Annually. The 1st year Professional Member must renew as a Professional Member after the first year of licensure.
One Year – $149.50
Professional Memberships
A Professional member must be an acupuncturist licensed to practice Acupuncture in the State of Oregon under the Acupuncture Practice Act. Professional Members possess full rights and privileges as voting members of the association. The annual dues for this category are $100.00 Quarterly, or $299.00 Annually.
Quarterly Renewal – $100/every 3 mo.
Yearly Renewal – $299/year
Friend of Acupuncture Memberships
A Friend of Acupuncture is an individual who supports the goals and ideals of the OAA. Retired Oregon acupuncturists, out-of-state professionals, allied health care practitioners, and community members may subscribe to membership and will receive any newsletters, announcements, and information published by the association, and possess non-voting membership privileges for such services provided by the association to its membership. A Friend of Acupuncture may not hold office, may not vote, may not serve as a committee chair, but may serve on committees. The dues for this category are $50 annually.
Yearly Renewal – $50/year
Financial Hardship Memberships
A Financial Hardship member must be an acupuncturist licensed to practice acupuncture in the State of Oregon under the Acupuncture Practice Act. A Financial Hardship members possess full rights and privileges as voting members of the association. The annual dues for this category is $100.00 annually.
To qualify for the Financial Hardship Membership, you must complete 20 hours of volunteer service with the OAA.
Yearly Renewal – $100/year
By joining our association, you also become a member of the American Society of Acupuncture (ASA). Collectively, you become an essential part of a statewide and national powerhouse that serves to elevate licensed acupuncturists and the profession as a medicine with quality continuing education, emerging research, and discounts on products and services.
We keep you connected to other providers, progress in the field, advocacy issues, and industry information within our state, other states, and national news via state level websites that connect to national content.
In addition, our website content provides information on licensure standards for the public and policy makers. WHAT IS THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ACUPUNCTURE (ASA)?
The ASA exists through state level acupuncture associations to unite licensed acupuncturists nationally, and to champion acupuncture as a medicine at state and federal level while protecting professional interests, increasing access for patients, and informing the public. Their mission is advancing the professional practice of acupuncture as a whole system of medicine through advocacy, education, and research with the vision of being partners in the American healthcare system.
Joining our association is simple! We offer 4 different membership options: Student, First Year Professional, Professional, and Financial Hardship. Professional Membership can be paid annually or quarterly. Visit Become a Member to select the appropriate membership option and pay online.
CAN I PAY QUARTERLY?
Yes, this option can be selected when opting for a professional annual membership. Payments are set up to be automatic.
HOW CAN I BECOME A BOARD MEMBER OR JOIN A COMMITTEE?
