Guest Speaker: Robert Chu, PhD, LAc., QME
Master Tung Ching Chang was born in Shandong Province, China. He moved to Taiwan during the Chinese revolution. His family lineage of acupuncture used a very different system than what became known as Traditional Chinese Medicine. He would have been prosecuted if he had not conformed. Tung’s acupuncture utilizes distal points, allowing him to treat upwards of a 100 patients in a
day. His system is ideal for performing community acupuncture. Master Tung also stepped out of his family tradition by training many outside practitioners, including Miriam Lee.
Dr. Chu regularly lectures at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, Five Branches in San Jose, University of East West Medicine in Sunnyvale, Ca., as an adjunct professor. He also lectures nationally and abroad on Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to provide continuing education to MD’s and Acupuncturists. In 2005, he founded ITARA- International Tung’s Acupuncture Research Association, to preserve and research new applications in Master Tung system of Acupuncture with integrity, and open sharing. NCCAOM has approved the seminar for 1.5 AOM-OM hours and 12 AOM-AC hours for a total of 14.5 PDAs.
